IACMA’s headquarter is in the sports area of Lugano city, in the Ticino Canton of Italian Switzerland. This area, called “Resega,” about the homonymous ice rink and the municipal soccer stadium, is the city’s sports center. It is an easily reachable place both with public and private transports. This is due to the opening of the new tunnel “Vedeggio/Cassarate,” which allows reaching the Resega area by freeway from the “Nord” exit.
In the area there are several parking fees: some are located at the sides of the soccer stadium, for a maximum charge of CHF 2.- for 4 hours; others, in front of the main entrance of the Palaghiaccio (ice rink), with an hourly rate; the “Cornaredo” parking lot of the stadium; the “Cinestar” multiplex cinema parking lot, where there are also free parking spaces for the disabled.
There are two large rooms on the second floor of the building where the IACMA Academy is located: 140 square meters and 160 square meters. Both rooms are equipped with a shock-absorbing floor, mirrors wall for 12 m, wall bars and a stereo system. One of the two rooms is dedicated mainly to martial arts and combat sports, bags, hitters, conditioning equipment, traditional weapons for Chinese martial arts; also, a regular ring for the competition of 6 x 6 m which can be easily put together.
The largest room is instead a free surface, which can be divided into two spaces if necessary. This last room is ideal for slideshows, seminars, congresses and conferences. In both rooms it is possible to use light mats for single work on the ground, or a tatami (Judo type) of 8 m x 8 m. On request it is also possible to equip the surfaces with professional music and lighting systems for different needs and projectors for conferences. The Center was treated for the rebalancing of energies and environmental hygiene with the application of “Ojas” systems. The school is open all year round and allows those who wish to plan training weekends, periodic or annual courses. Since 1990 the center has been a specific point of reference for Oriental disciplines, mainly Chinese, but it is also the point of contact and reference for the major therapists. The philosophy that distinguishes the I.A.C.M.A. it is the harmony with which the courses are educated for individual growth. The possibility of participating in a free practice session, in any of the courses present in the Center, offers a further guarantee of clarity, seriousness and professionalism.
The IACMA academy is, in principle, a wide open entrance door to the student, therefore the appropriate venue for anyone wishing to approach Chinese disciplines with seriousness and determination.
